Learn how rifle choice, fit, technique, and muzzle devices affect recoil—and why recoil is not necessarily a problem that needs to disappear.
Approximately 90 Minutes • Foundations Class • $50
A rifle that fits poorly can make recoil feel much worse than it needs to. We’ll look at stock fit, length of pull, rifle weight, shooting position, and why choosing the right firearm for the shooter matters just as much as the cartridge.
Muzzle brakes, compensators, recoil pads, added weight, and other changes can all affect how a rifle behaves. We’ll cover what each one actually does, what tradeoffs it brings, and when modifying the firearm makes sense.
Recoil and muzzle rise are not the same thing, even though shooters often experience them together. We’ll look at how body position, shoulder placement, grip, and follow-through affect how the rifle moves, and why better technique can make the same firearm feel much easier to control.
